A Rather Anticlimactic Twilight Night
wassup peoplez? sorry i haven't been on in so long. i've had a lot of homework these past few days. ugh. hopefully i'll get used to it soon...not. anywayz, enough of my 7th grade issues and onto chapter 7!
5:00 came way too quickly. We had spent the day coming up with tactics in case the Volturi came. (With a little laughing at Emmett’s expense). Aside from the possibility of vampire royalty coming to kill me, it had been a pretty great day, and I didn’t want to push my luck. So a 4:45 Onyx and I left. We headed back to Jacob’s house where we met up with Nikki, Bry, Zach and Sky, and our parents. I noted that Skyer had his arm around Nikki’s shoulders, and Zach and Bryanna were holding hands. “Awww, how cute!” I whispered to Onyx, gesturing towards our friends.
He smiled, too. “Nikki and Bryanna will be safe from the Volturi so long as they’re with Sky and Zach.” That was a relief. At least now I didn’t have to fear for their lives.
“CJ! Onyx! Did you have a fun time at the Cullen’s?” Dad asked. I nodded.
“Oh, yeah. It was great. The Cullens are a very nice family.”
We decided to walk into town. We let our parents walk ahead of us so we could talk without being overheard.
“You met the Cullens?!” Bryanna demanded. I nodded proudly.
“Meanie! I’m jealous!” Nikki joked. Onyx and I told them all about the Cullens. Well, almost everything. We had agreed not to tell them about my telekinesis. The less they knew, the better.
After a while I tuned out the chatter and reflected on the day.
The Volturi. They wouldn’t hurt my family or my friends. Since I was tied to Onyx in a way as strong as imprinting, odds were they weren’t going to hurt me, either. That was good. My life was just getting interesting…
My power. It was still hard to believe I’m telekinetic. But I was. I’d made a couch come to me. I’d sent a vampire flying around a living room, slammed him into walls. Who knew the extent of my ability? I would definitely have to work my power to its full potential, if only to see how far I can go with it.
Onyx. Oh, Onyx. How could I possibly describe him? He is, in a word, Perfection. To me at least. Not Renesmee Cullen perfection, a different kind of perfection. With his warm, dark skin, his dazzling, sparkling eyes, that gorgeous black hair that was neither too short nor too long…
Stop it, CJ! You do not like Onyx like that! You can’t! What if he doesn’t like you back? What happens then? It’ll ruin everything!
I can’t help thinking what I think. I defended. He’s too wonderful for me not to think it.
I continued this mental battle with myself as we walked into Forks. Suddenly there was a voice in my head that wasn’t my own.
You okay? Onyx asked.
I smiled weakly. Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little headache.
He grinned and ruffled my hair. Not surprising, considering everything that’s happened today. Ya know, with your gift and all. You’re a pretty amazing girl, ya know that? I was grateful that it was too dark for him to see me blush.
Finally we arrived at the bookstore, where the first event of Twilight Night was being held. The location was different every night.
The bookstore was on the small side. Fitting, as Forks was a small town. We stepped inside. The first night of Twilight Night had officially begun.
* * *
4 hours later we had split up to do our own things. Our parents were talking together about god knows what. Nikki and Skyer were flipping through a rack of CD’s. Lastly, Bry and Zach were laughing over a book of ‘werewolf myths’. My old copy of Twilight was battered and torn up, so I dragged Onyx to the Twilight section to get a new one.
I smiled apologetically as I selected a paperback copy. “I’m sorry, I’m boring you to death, aren’t I?”
Onyx arched an eyebrow. “You? Boring? Never!” he tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear. He took a step closer to me. Then another. I was rooted to the floor where I stood. Our eyes darted from side to side. No one was by this section but us. He took another step forward. I could feel the heat radiating from him. My back was pressed against the shelf. Onyx leaned in closer.
Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, NO! Not here! Not now! Nikki and Bry could come over at any moment! Or worse—Mom and Dad! No!
I looked for something, anything, to stop this from happening. Something by the window caught my eye. I gasped. “Onyx, look!” His head snapped to the direction I was pointing in, searching for the object of my distress. His eyes settled on a cloaked figure standing outside the bookstore window. The young girl looked about my age, with pale skin and light brown hair. She was short, about Alice’s height, but I knew it wasn’t Alice. I knew because her eyes were a fiery scarlet, twin rubies engraved into her innocent face. She smiled venomously. She curled her index finger in, inviting me closer.
A growl erupted from Onyx’s chest. His hands were clenched into fists; beads of sweat popping up on his brow. He settled into a protective crouch in front of me. I lightly touched his arm and looked up at him.
Calm down. I told him. Maybe they don’t want to hurt us.
He rolled his eyes and shrugged. Yeah, or maybe they want to rip us to shreds then leave us to die.
My eyes narrowed as I realized what he was implying. Us? What do you mean, us? If they’re going to kill anybody, it’ll be me, but you haven’t done anything wrong. You will not die because of me, Onyx Black. Do you hear me?
He grabbed my hand and held it tightly. You’re crazy if you think I’d leave you.
I’d gladly take insanity if it meant keeping you safe.
He squeezed my hand harder. I'd take on every member of the bloodsucker's guard with pleasure if it guaranteed your safety.
I looked up into his eyes and smiled.
* * *
You can imagine my shock when I looked from Onyx’s face long enough to realize the girl was standing right in front of me. She leaned in and whispered so low only the three of us could hear, “Be at the house of the Olympic Coven tomorrow. We have much to discuss, young one.” And just like that, she was gone.
this was anticlimactic, huh? oh well...it was essential to the plot that they don't do anything just yet...and i thought the part at the end with CJ and Onyx was sweet! but that's just me, the hopeless romantic...comment pleez! whoever can guess which member of the Volturi it was gets a virtual cookie! (even tho it was pretty obvious if u read the saga...)
Peace and Hufflemuffins

Meet the Cullens
hey everybody!!!! okay, i am SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO sorry that i haven't been on for so long! Tuesday was my first day of 7th grade, so the week has been crazy, as you can imagine. now, for the long-awaited Chapter 6!!!!
Every Cullen’s face was grim with a foreboding that confused me. “Sorry about the window, Mrs. Cullen,” I mumbled to Esme. I made the couch fly back into the living room. Then I forced the shards of glass back together. It was as if the window had never broken.
For a while no one spoke. Then…
“How much do you know?” Carlisle asked.
“Pretty much everything. If it was written in Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn, then I know it.” I shrugged.
I was ushered into the Cullen’s house. Onyx’s arms were still around me, as if shielding me from an unknown enemy.
“This is not good. This is not good at all.” Edward began to pace. “You didn’t see it coming?” he asked Alice.
She shook her head. “Nope. In fact, I can’t see her future at all. My guess is, her future is intertwined with his,” she motioned towards Onyx “and since I can’t see his future, I can’t see hers, either.”
“What’s the big deal?” Jacob asked irritably. “Not that telekinesis isn’t a big deal or anything,” he explained apologetically, “but why do y’all look like someone died?”
“Telekinesis is a gift so powerful, so dangerous, vampires and humans alike would kill for it.” Carlisle explained.
“Imagine what CJ can already do, then imagine that magnified 10 times over should she ever become a vampire,” Edward continued.
“If that ever happened, she would become the perfect weapon for”--Jasper broke off.
“The Volturi,” I finished. Tears gathered in my eyes.
Onyx held me tighter. “Well, we’re just not gonna let ‘em have ya,” he growled.
Jake looked to Carlisle. “Will they force her?”
Carlisle shook his head. “It all depends on whether or not they find out. Sooner or later, someone will tip them off. They have spies everywhere. They could try to use Chelsea to enslave her, but between Bella’s shielding and Onyx’s obvious attraction towards her,” Emmett seized the opportunity to snicker at me, “that won’t work. They may threaten her family’s safety, but, no, that’s just not Aro’s style. The most likely card they’ll play is that she’s a human that knows about vampires. So her future could go 2 ways. 1) Death, or 2) become a vampire.”
“But that’s not fair!” Onyx cried out angrily. “Sue Clearwater knows. Emily Uley knows. Why is CJ the only one that gets in trouble?”
“Emily Uley? Wait, they’re married now? That’s so nice! Tell them I said congrats,” I told Jacob.
“Focus, CJ. Back to what you said, Onyx. That’s a different situation. Sue is Leah and Seth’s mom, so of course she knows. And like CJ said, Sam and Emily are married. Sam imprinted on Emily, so that changes it entirely.” Esme explained.
“So doesn’t that let CJ off the hook? Don’t we get the same pardon as Sam and Emily?”
Jake’s eyebrows shot up. You imprinted on CJ? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Well, no, I didn’t. But with the mental link and the dream, isn’t it”---
“Wait,” Carlisle interrupted. “What dream? What mental link?”
I glared at Jacob. “You didn’t tell them? What were you doing for 30 minutes before we got here?”
“Well, I might have been playing with Nessie,” Jacob admitted sheepishly.
I looked around. “Where is Nessie, anyway?”
“She’s out hunting with Rosalie. Please tell us about your mental link.” Carlisle persisted.
Onyx and I brought the Cullens up to speed. When we were done, the family of vampires sat back, thoughtful. Suddenly Bella shot to her feet. “They’re back,” she smiled in relief.
Suddenly, through the door walked the most gorgeous creature I had ever seen. She had a curtain of glossy blonde hair, shimmering, pearly skin, and a body that would put any goddess to shame.
But I wasn’t really paying attention to her, Rosalie. No, I was focused on the angel she carried in her arms.
She had bronze hair that cascaded in ringlets down to her waist. She had chocolate colored eyes and rosy cheeks. Perfection, thy name is Renesmee Cullen.
“Thy?” Edward smirked and raised his eyebrows. Oh right, mind reader.
I shrugged. “If other people can use clichés like that, I can too.”
“Thank you, by the way,” he added. “She’ll love to hear that one.” At this point everyone was staring at us like we were crazy.
“Ugh, mind conversations,” Jake mumbled.
Nessie reached out to me. Edward nodded once and Rosalie hesitantly handed Nessie over to me. The angel reached out and placed her palm on my cheek. I gasped in surprise. I saw myself, but the vision was reversed. It was like looking in a mirror, but the picture Renesmee showed me was more real than a reflection. She showed me a vision of Onyx and I on the couch together. Her expression was one of confusion. Then I understood she was asking me who we were.
I smiled. “Hi Nessie. I’m CJ and this is Onyx. We’re friends of Jacob and he’s introducing us to your family. I have heard so many good things about you!” She smiled and gave me a little hug. My face beamed wit pride.
Suddenly, I had an idea. “Hey Nessie, guess what? I have a talent like you and your mommy and daddy have talents. Want me to show you?” she nodded eagerly. I grinned evilly. “Watch this.”
I used my telekinesis to suspend Emmett in midair. I made him zoom around the room and bounce off the walls. Nessie shrieked with laughter. I used my power to open the window, and then I sent Emmett flying out. I dunked him in the lake. Then I gave him back control of his body. He jumped through the window, soaking wet, growling a long string of profanities, including a couple I never heard before. Meanwhile Nessie was bouncing up and down, giggling. Rosalie, on the other hand, looked annoyed.
“What did Emmett do to deserve being ridiculed by a 12 year old?” c
“He called me a little girl then hung me from a tree.”
“Why am I not surprised?”
“Rosie!” Emmett complained. Alice and Bella giggle quietly. I turned to Emmett and stuck out my tongue, making Onyx laugh. Everyone else was trying to fight back grins, but it was obvious they wanted to bust up laughing. Yup, I could definitely get used to this.
