Maximum Ride Fanfic Chp.6

okay, i'm on to chapter 6, and you know what that means: THIS IS THE LAST CHAPTER OF MY MAXIMUM RIDE FANFIC!!!!!! *sob* so sad. 

disclaimer:this is my last chapter, so i'll say it for old time's sake-- i do NOT own maximum ride or the flock. i own Elizabeth and her flock. maximum ride is property of James Patterson. here it goes... can you feel the tension... almost there... just a little bit more... oh, what the heck, here's the chapter! 

 

Now that we were back at home, Elizabeth had been reunited with her Flock, and the day was saved, there was only one problem left: Where would they go? I consulted Elizabeth after dinner on the matter.

“Ummm, I’m not exactly sure where we’re going to go. God knows we can’t stay here, what with just breaking out of the School and whatnot. And maybe you should clear out for a couple of weeks, too, just in case they go looking for you guys.” I nodded.

She sat there on the front porch, twirling a lock of hair around her finger and staring at her sneakers like they were the most interesting things in the world. I laughed.

“You’re doing it again,” I told her. She looked up, confused.

“I’m doing what again?” she asked.

“Whenever you don’t know whether or not to say something you’re thinking you get all scared and nervous,” I said. She sighed.

“Okay, I was just kinda thinking, just maybe that… I could go home, to my parents and my brothers. Do you think that’s a bad idea?” she said hurriedly. I put my hand on her shoulder.

“I trust you to make the right choice,” I said reassuringly. I got up and left her to her thoughts.

The next day Elizabeth and her flock left. There were many tears and exchanges of emails. (Not that we had emails up until that point, but Mom would help us make some).

“Will we ever see you again?” Elizabeth asked me.

“Hopefully. It’s definitely possible,” I said.

“Where will you go?” Nudge asked them.

“I have a place in mind,” Elizabeth told her. She smiled at me and I smiled back.

“Look for us bird kids on the news, in case we pop up,” Aaron joked.

“Likewise,” Fang pushed him a little and Aaron shoved him back. Aww, friends already. Actually, we were all getting to know each other pretty well. I was surprised to feel a pang of regret, seeing our new friends and allies leave us.

“Call us if you need anything,” I made them swear.

“Email us soon, assuming Iggy and Gazzy don’t blow up your laptop,” Cheryl teased.

Tears started to well in my eyes. I really liked these people. Why did they have to go? Elizabeth looked over at me and noticed my pained expression. “Don’t worry about us. We take care of each other. Just like you guys. Always have, always will”. I nodded and bit my lower lip.  I will not cry. I will not cry. She motioned for the others to do an up-and-away. She spread her wings and pushed off from the ground. She turned around in the air and yelled something down to me. Then she and the rest of her flock flew off into the sunset, so to speak. I knew without hearing what the last thing she had shouted was: “Remember us”. And if you see a group of seven 12 year olds with wings flying around, you’ll remember them, too. And don’t go blabbing about it to the media, going with the assumption that you enjoy existing in one piece, okay? 

 So…that’s it. It’s finally over. Awww, so sad. But don’t worry, cuz I’m already working on my new Twilight fanfic. Yay Twilight!

Oh, before I forget, I finally thought of a title for the fanfic. I call it (DUNTA DA DUN!) No One Is Alone. I thought of this title since Max has her flock and Liz has hers. Now they all know that there is another gang of bird kids just like them. Even when the going gets tough, they won’t be on their own. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s kinda corny, but it’s all I could come up with at the moment, okay?
