i finally have a moment to post the next chapter. i know this one has a crazy twist at the very end that none of you anticipated, but trust me, it's essential to the story. Read and Review, please!
I wondered why my bed seemed so small, and then I realized I was on the couch. I sat up and stretched. I stood up and decided to go to the kitchen. I took two steps, then tripped over something and went sprawling. I yelped as I fell onto some poor unsuspecting werewolf. Onyx groaned as all 111 pounds of me hit him. “Oops, sorry,” I whispered.
“S’okay,” he replied. “Hey do you know what Billy and Jake have in their kitchen?” he asked.
“I was going in there to see,” I told him. Then I realized I was still on top of him. I hurried to my feet and Onyx pulled himself up.
“Let’s go check,” he said and we walked into the kitchen. I was mildly surprised to see Jacob at the table, sipping coffee.
“Mornin’,” he muttered as he looked up from his cup. ‘
“Hey, Jake.” I started to make a pot of tea. “Where are Mom and Dad?”
“Sleeping, same as Billy.” He took another sip of coffee. “Hey, CJ, can I ask you something?”
I took a chocolate chip muffin out of its container. “Shoot.”
“I was wonderin’ if ya wanna meet the Cullens today.” I choked on my muffin. Onyx whacked me on the back. I quickly gulped down some tea.
“Oh my gosh, of course I wanna go!” I exclaimed. “When do we leave?”
“I’m gonna leave at 9:00 and you’ll go at about 9:30 so they’ll be prepared. Onyx will take you there, he knows the way.”
“What about Mom and Dad?”
“Billy talked it over with them last night, they’re okay with it so long as you’re here by 5:00.” Jake assured me.
I started to jump around the kitchen, squealing my head off, singing “I’m gonna meet the Cullens! I’m gonna meet the Cullens!” over and over. I have so much dignity, don’t I?”

At 9:30 Onyx and I walked to the woods at the edge of La Push. “Nervous?” he teased.
“A little,” I confessed. “I’m scared they’ll think I’m just some annoying fangirl that gets in their way.”
“That description doesn’t fit you in the slightest,” he argued, ever the gentleman.
We walked into the woods. Well, to be fair, Onyx walked. I spent 99% of the time tripping over everything in front of me. I was grateful when Onyx stopped and phased into a wolf. I climbed onto his back carefully, not wanting to mess up. I sat on his back and knotted my fingers in his fur, and he took off. It was my dream all over again, only 10 times better. Everything was a blur, I was only aware of Onyx as he sprinted through the forest.
How ya holding up? He asked.
Never better. I replied happily.
Finally we stopped. I climbed down and Onyx phased back. I looked away pointedly as he pulled on a pair of shorts he had brought along. Suddenly I began to fret over my outfit. Were my denim shorts and purple t-shirt too casual? Was my hair messed up from my trip in the woods? I didn’t want to look like an idiot for my first meeting with the Cullens.
“How do I look?” I asked anxiously as we stepped out of the forest.
Onyx took my hand reassuringly. “You look absolutely perfect. Of course”----
“Of course, you always look absolutely perfect. Look, we get enough of the lovey-dovey stuff from Edward, so if you could spare us the goo-goo eyes, that would be great.” Someone interrupted him sarcastically.
I could guess who it was without looking. Emmett Cullen. I rolled my eyes. “Just my luck. Of all the vampires in Forks, the first one I meet is the body builder with the empty head.”
“Uh, hello? Have you seen me, little girl?” Little girl? I don’t think so. I looked up at him for the first time.
Whoa. He was muscular. And huge. I squeezed Onyx’s hand for comfort. “Yeah, I’m looking at ya. Now, could someone please get me a bucket I can throw up into?”
Someone behind Emmett snickered. Edward Cullen, most likely.
Emmett scowled. Then he grinned mischievously. He grabbed me by my arm, wrenching me out of Onyx’s grasp. He started to climb up the nearest tree. He swung me up to one of the highest branches and hung me there by the back of my shirt. My eyes narrowed. “You wouldn’t.”
He smirked. “Watch me.” He jumped down, leaving me hanging. Even if Onyx could have climbed that high, he would never have been able to carry me down. Any of the Cullens could have gotten me easily, but they wouldn’t try to stop Emmett during one of his stupid jokes. Good thing I had an idea that would make Emmett look really bad.
As I went over the plan in my head, I heard laughter from below. Oh yeah, Edward was probably reading my mind. At least I knew nothing bad would happen. Since Edward knew what I was about to do, and he wasn’t objecting to it, I probably wouldn’t get hurt.
I swung forward, and then back, muttered a quick prayer, and then swung forward again.
My plan was that I would fall from the branch, and one of the Cullens, Jake, or Onyx would catch me. (Between you and me, I had hoped it would be Onyx.) Then, I would bawl my eyes out and make Emmett look like a jerk. When he believed I was really crying, I would grin like a moron and shout “Gotcha!”
You may or may not know this, but I have the ability to cry at will. I could be feeling great, but make myself look totally miserable. It’s been useful when I’ve wanted someone to feel guilty.
For a split second I thought What if no one catches me? Suddenly my plan didn’t seem so good. I dimly remembered from Twilight that the Cullens had a couch in their living room. I wished that couch was underneath me right then.
The next thing I knew a black leather sofa came crashing through the window of the Cullens’ house. It landed under the tree at the moment Onyx had thrown himself forward to catch me. I landed on the couch with a thump, Onyx’s arms encircling me.
It took me a moment to realize what I had done. I had wanted the couch beneath me, and I had moved it to the tree. With my mind. I looked first to Onyx, then to the vampires crowding the sofa. “So apparently I’m telekinetic. Wow, didn’t see that coming.”
